The chat rooms are where the community talks, live, about anything from BuzzerBeater to your favorite movie. They work just like Messages, only in public.
There are four kinds of room. The world room is shared by every manager in the game: open Live Activity from the top bar (on a phone, it is the first tile of the Community overview), and you find it beside a globe that lights up with the managers who are online. Every competition, from your league and the cup to BuzzerBeater's Best and your private leagues, has a room on the CHAT tab of its hub, open to the managers of the clubs entered in it this season. In My League, the room comes with the list of the league's clubs and their managers, the ones online first.
Every national team has a room too, on the CHAT tab of its page, for the users of its country, its manager and the candidates of its election; the senior and U21 teams have one each, and that is where their elections are discussed. And every game has a room beside its play-by-play in the match viewer, open to whoever is watching (the crowd in the stands even holds up the emoji you send). Rooms do not keep everything: the world room and the game rooms keep a week of history, competition and national team rooms a season. Stuck on something? Ask in your league's room or the world room: we really appreciate how many BuzzerBeater players help each other, and it's a wonderful thing that our community does!
OK, so now for the tough part. The rooms are looked after by our GMs. When writing in a public room, you are expected to remain polite and refrain from either personal attacks or political discussions. Keep to the room's subject: your league's room is for your league, and the world room is the place for everything else. Any messages deemed spam are also prohibited, and messages not in the language(s) of the room will be removed so that everybody can read all discussions. You can edit or delete your own messages at any time; a deleted one leaves a small note in its place.
Users who do not behave properly in the rooms may lose the right to write in them for some period of time or for good, be fined, and/or in extreme circumstances, even be banned from BuzzerBeater entirely. The rooms are an important part of the community, and we are committed to keeping them friendly and welcoming to all of our users.
Community Rules
Buzzerbeater is a game for all ages across the world. Managers should always consider that in their actions and at all times show respect towards other players in the community. Communication in the world room is English-only. National team rooms and the rooms of your country's competitions use their local language(s), or English. Additionally, excessive use of CAPITAL letters and "chatspeak" are typically not tolerated, chat or no chat.
The following is not permitted in any room or conversation of BuzzerBeater:
- Spam (i.e. multiple posting of the same message).
- Racist or personal attacks; attacks on a specific nation or religion.
- Excessive use of swearing or profane language.
- Cheating accusations. Please use Report Cheaters, in Settings.
- Advertising goods or services you wish to buy/sell/trade in real life.
- Asking for help with illegal software (piracy) or CD-keys to such games/software.
- Promoting criminal activities or use of illegal goods or substances, i.e. drugs.
- Flooding (i.e. posting needlessly, again and again, to push yourself or your message back into view).
- Discussing staff decisions (BBs/GMs). Please e-mail [email protected] with your complaint.
- Begging for Supporter.
- Referral links.
- Links to pornographic content or content that is not suitable for children.
- Useless or irritating posts. This includes single syllable answers, trolling(*) and spamming.
In addition, the following is not permitted in the public rooms (the world room and the rooms of competitions, national teams and games):
- Advertising players you have for sale: the Transfer List does that for you.
- Valuation requests.
- Scrimmage advertising.
- Private League advertising.
- Political and religious discussions.
